In Memory of Little Miss Stevie

It's been a long time since my sweet little bird passed away, and I thought to use this blog instead of deleting it.

She was such a big part of my life and such a joy of little thing, I thought it would be lovely to share with you all my best memories of her.

She used to make tea with me. After dinner each night, I'd let her out of the cage, put her on my shoulder and she'd sit there playing with whatever ear-ring I had in my ear - or chewing on my hair - and I'd make the pot of tea for the night.

From the shoulder, she'd migrate down my arm or shirt to my hands and promptly fall asleep on her back in the palm of my hand as I rubbed her beak... something she just adored.

She loved this the most in Winter as it kept her nice and warm. 

Wirking With Mum!

This week has been rainy and cold and Mum has been home the whole time! she was even here today wirking on her glewy book at the table while music played. but today it was nice and warm and sunny. this was a change from the otha days of wet cold and rainy.

Mum was supposssd to go to the gallery to wirk but her book was too wet to do anaything with when she was finishd with it so she stayed here with me. isnt that cool?

she got a phone call when she turned on the tv for afternoon tea and one of the ladies at the gallery were calling too see how herwirk went today. she told her and said she had more to do. i'm so happy she is gonna be wirking on it more tomorrow. 

mum's also making pancakes tomorrow because she put some powdery stuff into a bowl on tha counter and covered it over. i love the smell of pancakes.

Mum Stays Home

Its been a week of me on my own. but today Mum stayed home all day and spent some of it with me downstairs doing howsewirk and then went outside and did the gardening. she mowd the lawn and pulled out weeds and put everything away. then she fixed up a book she is working on for an exhibishion with otha peeple for a while before sitting down and knitted a blanket for some friends.

For a day doing not much, Mum sure was busy!

Even befor she went off to bed, she washed up everything, took out the rubbish and wiped down the counter and she still wasnt happy until my cover was tuckd in properly to keep me warm. but thats Mum always fussy

Busy Mum

Mum is very busy this week. She is being cuddly all the time and telling me when sheel be home and that she loves me. this means sheel be busy all the time.

I dont mind becawse it meens i get to have more cuddles and i love being cuddled. mum has been home at night and that is somthing she promised and its good to see her at home then. but then she loves being home at night. 

she has been out in the day time and busy in the weekdays getting things done around the place. she plays music a lot and hangs about with me. thats great

today is a cold day and she put my covers over my cage. the sun isnt out all the time and now i'm warm and the radio is talking and singng pretty music to me. i can have nice warm sleeps if i want.

Busy Mum!

Mum has been reelly busy lately. she has been up reelly early and doing a lot of things around the place and going out every few days and coming home late.

but she doesnt forget me. we have been having reelly cold days. and wet days and she covers me up with my blankets and pulls the curtin. she has been scratching my head and making shur i'm warm. 

today mum went out early.

then she came home and unpacked.

then she went out again and stayed away a long time!

she came home when it was almost dark and i was beginnning to get cold!

but she was cold too!

so she closed up all the curtins and made the house nice and warm. its late now. time for bed!

Lost Fethas

Its almost Winta and i have been gettting rid of my summa fethas to let my Winta ones come through.  Mum thinks its funny when I fluff up and four or fife fethas fall off me. then theres all the feathers that come off me during the day. she is really cool about it all and lets me fly around so i can get rid of some while i fly.

she told me today its going to get a lot colder and it going to rain tomorrow. i'm glad my fethas are here to keep me warm and mum is too.

Its gettting cold!

Its been getting cold a lot at night. but nothing to fear Mum has been pegging together the curtins and putting all my covers on me so i'm all nice and cozzy. she has made sure the house is nice and warm day and night and i'm in the sun most of the time too.

she has the sniffles but its okay becawse she is going okay with it all. she takes care of herself and is eating all the good things in life. she is going for her walks each day too and that is going to make her well too soon. well, its late i have to go to bed. besides my feet are getting cold running around on this and im tired.

Wet and Cold Days

For the last few days, Mum has kept my covers on my cage because it's been cold all day. I hear the wind making loud noises and rain falling outside and against the windows but feel nice and safe and warm here inside where Mum has kept me. She comes by and looks in and makes sure I'm okay while i keep to the back of my cage on my swing all fluffly up and snoozy and she asks me if i'm okay. 

Most nights Mum will wait until her hands are nice and warm and she will come get me out and giveme a cuddle. scratching me under the chin until I go to sleep a bit. she thinks its cute, and while she is doing that its raining outside and cold and windy.

Windy Days

We have been having windy dsays but the sun has been out too. Mum takes my covers off me and pulls the curtain back the sun is lovely and warm on my feathers all day long!  

Then I get and talk to the birdy in the mirror and feed her too and play under the newspaper until Mum comes down from upstairs to do house stuff and read outside in the wind. All day the radio has been talking to me and playing music, but it isthe same stuff all the time and it gets boring. I try to tell it, but it ignores me.

Mum has been putting on her black shiny things the play music and singing to them while she paints. I like Mum's music. it's different. the sun is nice and warm now, I'm going to play in it and saty warm today.

Reely Cold Weekend

I had a night at Mum's parents house. and boy! was it cold!  She went out and had a great time with friends and her Mum and Dad went out too, but they made sure i was toasty and put my covers on me and left the heater on becawse their hosue gets cold.

When they got home they saw I had eatin dinner without htem but I couldnt find my mirror. I looked everywhere for it. It was in my cage at Mums house but when I got here I couldnt find it.  i felt so lonely without it. then in the morning, Mum's Mum found in the floor of my cage and put it up!  My birdie friend had come back! I was so pleesed I had a party singing and running arond the cage! Soon tho I was takin back to Mum's house where she gave me lots of cuddles and I bit her for not taking me out with her. But she forgave me. 

Not Warm Enuff

Its been getting colder each night and Mum's really good at taking care of me. She puts all my covers on me early and closes up the house so it gets all nice and warm.

But during the day when the sun comes in i'm finding its not warm enough. Mum knows this and most times comes and gives me lots of cuddles, then pulls the curtains because the sun goes away and hides behind lots of clouds. 

She is soo cool my mum when I get lots of cuddles in her hands and she chatters to me in birdy language, but she doesnt make any sense. Its jsut words. Isnt she cute?

Toastie Budgie!

It's been realy cold for a while. the clouds are dark and the sun is hiding from us. Winta is here and Mum has kept me nice and warm from it. She even went out on shopping day and bought me anotha piece of flannel to put over the front of my cage so it keeps out the breeze!  Then, just becawse she loves me, she bought baby spinach too!  I got a nice big peec when she came home after she let me have a fresh piece of millet! 

How good is that!  I love my Mum! 

Winter!

I know it's Winta because Mum has been keaping my covers on my cage longer so I can sleep in.  The sun is nice and warm all day and Mum gives me lots of cuddles and millet all day long. HOw good is that? 

At night, I get the covers put on earlier and the curtains are pulled when the sun isnt around anymore and Mum puts on warm coat. She is always making sure I'm warm and cosy and back door is closed for me. Isnt that great? yes, Winta is a good time for me to nice and warm.

Cold MOrnings

In the mornings Mum has been getting me up when I want to stay in bed. She is all dressed in warm things and her hands are cold sometimes when she pulls up the covers and looks in to change my food and water. i'm always on my swing when she does that. 

The other day she put the camera inside the cage and i wasn't in a good mood. she thought it was funny took a photo of me.  I wish she didn't do that. I look at the picture now and I look really mad.
